Day 02 : Negombo - Chillaw - Anuradhapura

After breakfast, we journey north toward Chilaw to visit the legendary Munneswaram Temple. This sacred complex, dating back to 1000 CE, is steeped in the myths of the Ramayana and stands as one of the five revered Ishwarams dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Continuing into the heart of the jungle, we stop at Raswehera and Aukana to witness two of the island's most magnificent colossal Buddha statues. Legend has it these masterpieces were the result of a fierce competition between a master sculptor and his apprentice. After a traditional local lunch, you’ll stand at the feet of the Aukana Buddha, a towering feat of ancient engineering. We conclude the day in Anuradhapura, the kingdom of ruins.

Day 03 : Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Habarana

Your morning is dedicated to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first great capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through a sprawling landscape of towering stupas and sacred monasteries, including a visit to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi—the oldest human-planted tree in the world.

For lunch, we step away from the crowds for a bespoke picnic by the Kaludiya Pokuna (the "Black Water Pond"), where the reflections of ancient stone and forest create a serene backdrop.

In the afternoon, we ascend Mihintale. Known as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, this mountain sanctuary offers breathtaking views and a profound sense of peace. Explore the rock caves once used by meditating monks before we drive to the jungle hub of Habarana for a relaxed evening and dinner.

Day 04 : Habarana - Polonnaruwa - Minneriya - Habarana

After breakfast, step into the 11th-century glory of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second medieval capital. Wander through the skeletal remains of the Royal Palace, stand in awe of the colossal statues of King Parakramabahu, and look out over the Parakrama Samudraya—a vast ancient reservoir that remains an engineering marvel today.

Following a local lunch, the afternoon turns toward the wild. We head to Minneriya National Park (or nearby Kaudulla/Eco Park, depending on the elephants' seasonal pulse) for a private Jeep Safari. Here, at the edge of the historic rainwater reservoir, you may witness "The Gathering"—one of nature’s greatest spectacles, where hundreds of wild elephants congregate. It is a soul-stirring encounter with the giants of the island. As the sun sets over the scrub jungle, return to Habarana for a relaxed dinner.

Day 05 : Habarana - Sigiriya - Kandy

We begin before the heat of the day with an early ascent of Sigiriya, the iconic "Lion Rock." A 5th-century engineering marvel, this soaring fortress reveals advanced water gardens, the world-renowned "Cloud Maiden" frescoes, and a shimmering Mirror Wall. At the summit, you are rewarded with a 360-degree emerald panorama. After your descent, enjoy a curated breakfast picnic in the cool shade of the royal gardens.

Our journey continues toward the highlands, with an optional stop at the Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO site housing 153 gold-hued Buddha statues within ancient caverns. For lunch, we visit a lush Spice Garden in Matale. Discover the aromatic secrets of Ceylon cinnamon and cardamom, topped off with a relaxing traditional head massage. We conclude the day in Kandy, the sacred hill capital, for a tranquil evening and dinner.

Day 06 : Kandy

Today, we trace the roots of Sri Lanka’s most famous export with a pilgrimage to the James Taylor Tea Factory in Digana. Walking in the footsteps of the pioneer of Ceylon Tea, you’ll visit his original plantation, the historic "Seat," and the legendary tea tree.

By afternoon, find tranquility in the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, 57 hectares of tropical majesty featuring rare orchids and aromatic spice groves.

As evening falls, we enter the heart of Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the spiritual soul of the nation, followed by a serene drive around the mist-veiled Kandy Lake. The night comes alive with a Traditional Cultural Show, a vibrant display of Kandyan fire-walking and rhythmic dance. To end the day, we offer an optional visit to a local pub—the perfect chance to enjoy a glass of local brew and mingle with the friendly Kandyan community.

Day 07 : Kandy - Galle

After a sumptuous breakfast, we descend from the hill capital toward the historic southern coast. This journey is one of the most scenic in the world; watch through your window as mist-capped mountains give way to plunging valleys, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant roadside boutiques where local artisans display their crafts.

Upon reaching Galle, we explore this charming UNESCO World Heritage town at a slower pace. Walk  through 300 years of history as you pass the iconic white lighthouse, the Dutch Reformed Church, and the ancient ramparts. As evening falls, enjoy a breezy moonlit stroll through the Fort’s cobblestone streets, soaking in the serene, sophisticated ambiance before a seaside dinner.
